The story is, sub-adult tigresses from Machli's last litter (3 female cubs) are trying to establish their own territory. Out of the 3 cubs, one was dominant. She was called as Satra (T17). She bullied and drove away other 2 cubs (one of the cub was relocated by authorities to another tiger reserve). And, finally she fought with her mother Machli to drive her away. It must be remembered, 10 years ago, Machli did the same thing against her mother. Machli could have easily defeated her daughter. In fact, last year she fought with large male tiger to defend her kill and she hold her own. If she wanted, she could have driven away Satra as well. But, Machli probably thought it is better to leave the prime real-estate area of the park, the area in which she had been dominant for 10 years, to her growing daughter than to keep it for herself in her old age. What a sacrificially tigress she is!
